Lotus Notes Journal Conversion to Outlook Journal
This database is designed to keep private documents not intended to be shared with others. It can be used either in the Notes Client or in a Web browser.
Types of documents
There are two basic types of documents in the Personal Journal
– a Journal Entry and a Clean Sheet.
Journal Entry - To create a journal entry choose “Journal Entry” from the create menu or click “New Journal Entry” from the top of any view. Fill in the Title of the entry and then type the body of the entry in the field below the Title. Then save and close the Journal Entry.* You will find the title of the Journal entry listed in the “All Documents” and “By Category” views.
Clean Sheet - Create a Clean Sheet when you want a document that does not display or print the document’s header. This is often used for business letters or any other document where it is not desirable to include the “Title” when displaying or printing. If you wish to add a title or a category to the Clean Sheet, click the “Add Title/Category” at the top of the document.
Documents are easily organized via an “All Documents” view and folders which you can create. The “All Documents” view shows all documents that have been created in your personal journal. You can click on the Title column heading to sort alphabetically by title and then click again to restore the View to it’s original state. Similarly, you can click on the date column to get the documents in descending creation order. This allows you to easily find the most recent dojuments you’ve edited. As you get more and more documents in your journal, you will find it useful to create folders to organize the documents.
